podcast video

The podcast video ch 1-3 explains how to plan out your podcast, gives the definition. It also gives you ideas of how to check out other sites and see which format suits what you are doing. Ch 4 shows how to edit and add music. Ch 5 discusses publishing your pod cast and then ch 6 leads into different types of equipment and the purposes of the equipment. It also tells what types of pod casts it will be good for. Ch 7 discusses getting the podcast out there and possibly getting profit for it. different marketing strategies and how to promote the podcast weather it is video or just audio.

Blogger tutorial 8-17 continued

Chapter 8 begins showing how to edit, put up the first post and how to edit after the post is already up.
Chapter 9 show all the different tools available for editing such as fonts, bold, italic, links, alignment, alignment, blog quote and clean up. The clean up is fixing up the blog to make it look better. And last but not least spell check.
Chapter 10 discusses how to upload images and where to get them from.
Chapter 11 talks all about editing the profile and making it better. You can add photos and decide how you want others to see it and how to view it.
Chapter 12 lets you know how to put your blog to work and how to send pings and list in the directory for others to be able to view your blog.
Chapter 13 Tells you how to make multiple blogs, invite members, restrict people and their comments and post comments. Publishing the blog and removing a member from the team or adding and deleting a blog.
Chapter 14 has you thinking about getting daring with your blog and and changing header colors and backgrounds. Changing templates and adding links.
Chapter 15 discusses audio. It shows how to use audioblogger and leave a voice message that can go to your blog.
Chapter 16 is very important because it tells different areas that one can go to for help and and tells what each section means, such as knownissues. Knowledge is the newsletter of blogger. There are different ways to contact blogger with questions. Developer is a site by blogger for the more advanced blogger.
Chapter 17 discusses advanced issues and tell different things available beyond blogger.

Blogger tutorial

The blogger tutorial was very helpful in setup and how to use the site. Chapter 1 gave an overview of what a blog is and different uses of a blog. Gathering info on how you want to set up your blog and the goals for what type of blog you would like to use. It also describes the different templates and hosts.
Chapter 2 continues with creating, naming and templates in more detail. Discussing how important choices of the profile and how to catch the readers attention.
Chapter 3 shows how to switch to a host server, ftp info and how to republish and give a description of contact info.
Chapter 4 teaches how to set the settings, encoding- how things appear on the page and the post template.
Chapter 5 gives examples of how to post and receive comments and who can post and how to keep people from posting. It shows how to have notifications sent to email if someone posts a comment.
Chapter 6 shows how to set up archives, enable posts and set up a URL and create sub folders.
Chapter 7 continues talking about site feeds of different kinds and notification of different posts. It talks about short feed, feed URL, blog send and mail to options. The mail to option is nice so that you can send a blog post from your email and add it to the blog.

Google Docs

The Google docs from Lynda.com:
Ch 1- taught how to sign into google docs and how to add to favorites
- setting up a google apps acct and how to use gadgets and navigate through the site.
-putting in headers and how to change settings.
This ch basically showed how to get going.
ch 2-Showed how to create different documents like word processing, spread sheets and presentations and how to view each one. It gave the use of different functions like uploading and handling techniques. how to create folder.
Ch 3- Discussed how to use the word processing documents. What special characters were and the differences from using word. It also discussed how to choose languages and different functions.
ch 4- discussed different ways of formatting and showed the specifics and how to use doc styles.
Ch 5- Spreadsheet set up and how to change properties.
Ch 6- Discussed how to set up inserting objects and how to use different links and bookmarks to make it easier to navigate long documents.
ch 7- showed how to begin collaborating with others and discussed the different ways and why google docs makes it easier. It explained about making revisions and how to use history and tracking. Manage sharing was also discussed and how important it is to know how to add and remove someone from a document.
Ch 8-11- Showed how to use the spreadsheets and the different formulas and functions and the differences .
Ch 12-14 showed how to set up presentations and how to navigate thorough the site.

Still watching the lynda.com tutorials. I could not watch the videos on the link that Ken sent. I am starting a list of things to ask about in class. I kind of have an idea on how to do them but like to have someone there if I screw up. checked out the second life site and am going to set one up this weekend.
